Position: Software Engineer

Squarespace, Inc. is a mid-stage NYC startup that develops a high-traffic, fully-hosted, content editing and management platform on the web--complete with an iPhone application. We have been described as "the Apple of content management" and we're growing like crazy. We are seeking talented developers to add to our all-star engineering team. Squarespace, based out of SoHo, is completely self-funded and profitable, with tens of thousands of paying customers and a growth rate that keeps us busy engineering new and exciting things for the web. We have big plans as a company and need your help getting there.

Squarespace is trying to push the envelope in user-interface design & experience, web-services, distributed caching and grid computing. We are currently looking for software engineers who are eager to solve some hard problems in these areas. The ideal candidate will be able to work well with minimal supervision and be comfortable with working on various layers of a complex system. Software engineers are expected to have strong communications skills and be comfortable working with not just other software engineers, but also with UI designers and marketing folks.

As a member of the team, you will be working with software engineers with years of startup experience developing and integrating complex backend systems in Java, C++, SQL & ORM frameworks and highly interactive web applications using nothing more than Javascript, HTML and CSS.
