Squarespace provides merchants with multiple payment options for their ecommerce needs, including Stripe, Square, PayPal, Afterpay, and ClearPay. Squarespace now offers our own payment solution, Squarespace Payments, so you can conveniently handle payments, transactions, and payouts, all on the Squarespace platform.

What is a payment solution?

As an online business owner, accepting non-cash payments is vital to your business. A payment solution is how you take payments and keep track of your transactions. The payment solution you choose impacts how easily you can do business.

With Squarespace Payments, you can charge customers, issue refunds, handle chargeback disputes, manage transactions, and see your payouts, all on a single platform. This makes it more convenient to keep track of your finances and stay on top of customer service.

What is a payment processor?

A payment processor is a company or service that handles the operational aspects of transactions, such as requesting authorization from banks or financial institutions to accept payments via credit card, debit card, digital wallet, and other payment methods. This involves transferring the customers’ payment method information  from where customers enter their details, such as an online store checkout page, to the different banks or financial institutions involved in the transaction. Your payment solution will connect with a payment processor service.
