Our summer internship program is based in New York City. As an intern, you will work on a small team with full-time teammates. You’ll be paired with a Lead who, along with the Early Career team, will support you through weekly one-on-one meetings and transparent feedback. In addition to working on impactful projects, you will participate in educational and social programming.
From tech talks with our executives to a baking class at Momofuku, you’ll finish your summer with a deep understanding of Squarespace and an appreciation for all New York has to offer. Additional perks include free lunch, a beautiful rooftop, and weekly happy hours.

The Frontend team at Squarespace is responsible for building one of the most advanced interfaces on the web. With it, our customers are able to easily create beautiful interactive websites and stores. If you are a Frontend Engineer who strives to push the boundaries with what is possible in a web browser, we want to hear from you!
We work with our Frontend counterparts to build the website creation and editing experience. We have a number of teams building functionality that surrounds the website experience, like account management, domain registration and transfer, machine learning, and more. We also build systems to manage orders and transactions on websites for users selling goods on our platform.
We are responsible for evolving Squarespace’s massive engine that serves millions of users worldwide. We build the reverse proxies and caching layers that process 1.5+ billion requests every day, integrate with CDNs, handle TLS termination and understand HTTP/2. We develop the software that interacts with our storage, database, and search infrastructure across all of our data centers, ingesting close to 2 TBs of data per day.
Internal Products creates and maintains rich, modern applications, services and integrations that power the growth of Squarespace. We work closely with teams across the company to define and solve complex problems.
Our mobile team collaborates very closely with the iOS, Android, front-end, and server engineering teams, and is responsible for delivering an excellent experience for Squarespace users on mobile devices.
As a member of our Data Engineering team, you’ll sit with a cross-functional team of software engineers, data scientists and business analysts, working closely with your team to turn complex sources into understandable data.
We work together with the product teams to maintain the reliability of existing and new features that are backed by a fleet of microservices, scale our current data centers and adopt public cloud infrastructure, and with the data teams to tackle challenging "big data" issues.
